Muscle checking
is a biofeedback tool that allows us to go beneath our
conscious level of awareness to access the wisdom held in the body.
Muscle
checking has increasingly received acceptance within the holistic health
field.
The key concept
in muscle checking is that stimuli affect changes in muscle
response. Muscle checking allows us to identify imbalances caused by
the
electrical response of the body to negative and positive emotions.
The power
of muscle checking is that there is no guess work. The facilitator
and the client go to the heart of the issue quickly. Together they draw
out,
through muscle checking, what is true about the person from the person
being
checked - the only valid source. Together they will explore the best
course
of action.
In the late
1950's and 1960's, Dr. George Goodheart, D.C., found a
correlation between muscles checked, the body's meridian system, and
organs. Dr. Goodheart made these findings available to medical practitioners,
calling this new discipline Applied Kinesiology. Specialized Kinesiology
is the
layperson's version of Applied Kinesiology.
